Missa Sanctae Trinitatis - Choral Collection
Choirs will welcome this beautiful, four-part a capella mass setting by Australian composer Tom Buchanan.
The setting is intended to musically convey reverence for the sacrament of the Eucharist and the Roman liturgical tradition, whilst at the same time allowing the text to retain prominence. Written in a traditional style and influenced by the music of both the Western and Eastern Catholic
Church, the Missa Sanctae Trinitatis also features subtle contemporary harmonic and rhythmic elements.
A unique musical and prayerful setting.Tom Buchanan wrote the Missa Sanctae Trinitatis following the introduction of the new translation of the Mass in 2011. In writing this work, Tom’s aim was to create an artistic link between today’s Roman liturgy and the rich sacred music canon of the Catholic Church. It is hoped that this new Mass setting will encourage the pursuit of choral singing in the parish churches of Australia.
